There are some cartoons here that either have no named artist, or the name is hard to read and research reveals nothing.

If you see something and you know who it is by, or if we have even made a mistake, please tell us.

I was looking on Amazon UK the other day for cartoon books for my collection. There are some real bargains to be had, books in very good condition for just 1p (plus postage, of course, but that’s fine). I bought two titles, they arrived promptly, are like new and I am very pleased.

If you like cartoons, or indeed any kind of book, look for bargains there. They are not sold by Amazon directly, at least, mine weren’t, but by other sellers who presumably got them as part of a job lot and are keen to get rid…

There was a time in the 1970s when I really got into cartoons. I don’t mean animations, I means little drawings of a humorous nature in papers and magazines. I collected the ones I really liked, mostly from Punch, and kept them in a Boot’s scrapbook.

Now, after maybe 40 years, some of them are here.

I apologise if you are one of the artists and you don’t want people to see your old work. Let me know and I will remove it.

But so many of these are so funny and clever they deserved to be seen again.

There are no strips here, just one-off cartoons, or occasionally a set on a theme.
